ONLINE PROCEDURE TO BECOME INSURANCE AGENT

STEP-1: AGENT REGISTRATION

The first step to becoming an Insurance Agent is  Agent Registration. There are two ways to register yourself,  Offline OR Online.

For Offline registration as Insurance Agent it requires the candidate to visit the Branch and meet the Development Officer and fill the agency registration form which includes basic details like Name, address, mobile number, bank account details to register with us, email id, photographs, educational qualification documents & 2 reference person’s name and address.

STEP-2: IRDA ONLINE EXAM:

Upon successful completion of your online agent registration and training the next step is the IRDA Online exam (IC38). Some important points about exam are:

  1. The time duration for the exam is 1 hour.
  2. You will be given 50 Objective type questions (From the training syllabus IC38).
  3. Each question is worth one mark.
  4. You have to score only 18 marks out of 50 questions.
  5. There is no negative marking.
  6. We will guide you to have you ready for exam 

Almost 98% of candidates pass the exam with the help of personal support and training.

STEP-3: APPOINTMENT & PRODUCT TRAINING:

After passing the IRDA Exam you will be provided insurance Product training from the basics. Our training program is designed specifically to clear basics of Insurance Policies and objection handling. The field training in the form of joint calls ensures the success of agents. Agents will be issued an appointment letter & ID Card from insurance companies which authorizes them to sell insurance business of the respective company. At the time of appointment candidates need to fill agency forms and submit the required documents at the branch. The newly appointed agent will be given a in depth induction at select branch of insurance companies 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPOINTMENT OF AGENT:

  1. Once candidate passes the IRDA exam, He will need to once visit the branch with below documents 

    1. 3 Passport size colored photographs.
    2. Photocopy of your educational qualification documents.
    3. Local Address Proof: Aadhar Card, DL, Passport, Voter id, Rent Agreement etc.
    4. Copy of your Pan Card
    5. 1 Cancelled Cheque

    After successful submission of your agency form and documents Branch Manager will take a formal interview and insurance company will issue you the appointment letter and ID card.

FEES REQUIRED FOR INSURANCE AGENT EXAM:

1- NO registration fee,

2- Pre-exam training – classroom training is free of cost, online training fee- 200/-

3- IRDA exam fee 750/- for life insurance company (need to submit online directly to Insurance company & receipt shall be provided)

4- IRDA exam fee 650/- for Health insurance company (need to submit online directly to Insurance company & receipt shall be provided)

5- IRDA exam fee 750/- for General insurance company (need to submit online directly to Insurance company & receipt shall be provided)

IRDA EXAM DATES & ADMIT CARD:

There are no fixed dates for the IRDA Online Exam. Candidates can choose exam dates according to their time and day suitability after completion of pre-exam training and after online payment of exam fee. For working candidates, I want to let you know that IRDA makes a provision of early morning and late evening timings of exams and sometimes also provides exam days on Saturdays.
